Vaba bank Inc. Varazdin enables all students, users of the preferential student loans, to open a current account and be appointed with a Maestro/Cirrus chip card.
Maestro/Cirrus card is ment for the owners and assignees of HRK current accounts. Maestro/Cirrus card is a debit card and all transactions are charged over the account without delay.
Maestro/Cirrus card is the property of the Bank, is issued on a certain name and is not transferable.
Assignees are issued with an additional Maestro/Cirrus card with the same validity and functions as the one held by the owner of the account.
Validity of the card is 24 months with a possibility of reissuing. Maestro/Cirrus card is delivered to the client's home address, and the PIN (personal identification number) can be taken over 7 days after the card is delivered in the Bank's branch where the current account was opened.
Maestro/Cirrus card can be used for:

STUDENT LOANS
The main purpose of the project "Student" is to enable a large number of high-school and college students of the Varazdin County to study in Croatia and abroad on all levels of studies, through the approvals of purpose, preferential student loans realized by Vaba bank Inc. Varazdin, in order to increase the number of people with college degrees in the region. Vaba bank Inc. Varazdin, as a domestic bank and a socially responsible company, has recognized the importance of this project for the development of the Varazdin County and has supported it by preparing favourable conditions of student loan financing, so that studies would be accessible to all interested parties, regardless of their material and social status.
Preferential student loans are ment for financing basic expenses of studying for regular students on pre-graduate, graduate and post-graduate studies. Preferential student loans that are appointed by Vaba bank Inc. Varazdin are the first of its kind in Croatia, since they finance the basic living expenses during the course of studies (housing, nutrition, professional literature etc.), and not the scolarship itself. The loan is therefore used in approved monthly amounts during the course of regular studies, through payments on the student's current account, and is repaid after the studies are finished, i.e. the client is employed. A condition that the loan can be utilized is that the academic liabilities are upholded, i.e. that each year of studies is regulary inscribed.
For pregraduate and graduate studies monthly amounts from 500,00 HRK to 1.000,00 HRK are appointed for studies in the Varazdin County area, 1.000,00 HRK to 2.000,00 HRK for studies in Croatia, ouside the residence of the student and 2.000,00 HRK to 4.000,00 HRK for studies abroad. For postgraduate studies in Croatia the student is granted from 1.000,00 HRK to 2.500,00 HRK a month, and from 2.500,00 HRK to 5.000,00 HRK for studies abroad. Maximum loan amounts are determined by the city governement of the municipality. In addition to the loan demand, a confirmation of inscription into high-school/college is required, as well as the standard credit documentation for the co-debtor/guarantor (last 3 salary lists, IP form, solvency form of the employer). The Bank determines credit ability of the client and guarantor, i.e. co-debtor.
Preferential student loan is the most quality student loan in Croatia, and there is a large interest of other cities and counties that have contacted Vaba bank Inc. Varazdin with a desire to be involved in this project.
